7. Check Communication and Project Management
Procurement risk often comes from poor communication. During the audit, evaluate whether the supplier responds clearly, records requirements carefully and confirms details in writing.
Important communication points include quotation structure, sample status, packaging artwork approval, production schedule, inspection timing and shipment documents. For international B2B buyers, practical and consistent communication is just as important as factory equipment.
8. Review Packing and Export Readiness
Small kitchen appliances must be packed well for export shipping. Check inner packaging, color box quality, carton strength, drop test arrangements, pallet requirements and shipping mark control.
Ask whether the factory can support EXW, FOB, CIF or other shipping terms. Also confirm whether the supplier can prepare packing lists, invoices, certification documents and other export-related files required by your logistics team.
9. Look for Warning Signs
Be careful if a supplier cannot show production areas, avoids quality control questions, gives unrealistic lead times, refuses sample testing, or cannot explain certification documents clearly.
Other warning signs include inconsistent company information, poor packaging control, unclear MOQ rules and quotations that are much lower than market level without a reasonable explanation.

Before approving a supplier, make sure you have reviewed factory identity, product category experience, production capacity, QC process, certification support, OEM/ODM ability, packaging control and export readiness.
